Welshpool supervisors Dave Heppleston and Alistair Drew spent a day at Swan TAFE marking work pieces created by apprentice fitters, machinists and fitter/machinists.  Each stage of development was judged including job safety analysis, operational planning, marking out, housekeeping and final presentation.

Both Dave and Alistair found the experience to be educational and a fantastic opportunity to see the future of our industry.  The WA competition concluded with a breakfast awards presentation at the Burswood Resort, where Dave and Alistair had the chance to do some industry networking and talk with medal recipients who will be going on to the National Worldskills Competition in Sydney next year.
