RCR Tomlinson Ltd is a multi-disciplinary engineering company with a range of specialist operating divisions.  Headquartered in Perth, RCR also has large sites in Brisbane, Newcastle, Bunbury and Geraldton, with workshops and other facilities located throughout Australia and in New Zealand.

RCR are currently implementing a broad SAP solution based on SAP’s Best Practice methodology. The project has been underway since February this year and is entering the stage of preparing documentation for use in the implementation of the package.

For this we are seeking a Technical Writer to join the project team based at Welshpool. The position is responsible to perform modifications of existing SAP Best Practice written procedures to make them suitable for use as a training resource by RCR staff and to work in conjunction with the Training Co-ordinator to identify and collate documentation to produce ‘training packs’ to cover the role responsibilities in each division and at each roll-out.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Ability to understand end to end business processes across the whole of RCR
  • Ability to work independently, within a team and with end users as required
  • Methodical approach
  • Has excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced MS Word skills
  • Flexibility (as the role may change or extend)

Although this vacancy is only for duration of 5-6 months there are a number of possible opportunities around the project that may eventuate which include, extended training support after initial roll-outs, development of standard business forms and templates, development of and training in reports, ongoing development of the system to achieve productivity gains (the ‘walk and run’ stages) plus other productivity projects for the IS Team (post-development).
