Conduct non-slewing crane operations

This unit covers the lifting and positioning of loads using a non-slewing crane, mobile or otherwise, > 3 Tonnes (non slewing cranes are usually up to 25T)



A non-slewing mobile crane means: a powered mobile crane which incorporates a boom or jib that is not capable of being slewed.  It includes an articulated type mobile crane and a locomotive crane, but excludes a crane engaged in vehicle tow truck operation.

A non-slewing mobile crane with a capacity of 3 tonnes does not require a certificate to operate.

  • Course duration: 4 days
  • Training outcome: Crane - Non Slewing (CN) Statement of Attainment and WorkSafe High Risk Work Licence
  • Prerequisites: minimum 18 years of age
