Erect and dismantle scaffodling - Intermediate

Unit Code: BCGSC3001B

This unit specifies the competency required to erect and dismantle all types of tube and coupler scaffolding systems to provide work platforms for construction purposes and all work associated with modular scaffolding systems.


The scope of work for this certificate is scaffolding work associated with:

  • Prefabricated scaffolds
  • Tube-and-coupler scaffolds including tube-and-coupler covered ways and gantries
  • Cantilevered hoists with a working load limit not exceeding 500 kg (materials only)
  • Ropes
  • Gin wheels
  • Safety nets and static lines
  • Bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork)
  • Cantilevered crane loading platforms
  • Cantilevered and spurred scaffolds
  • Barrow ramps and sloping platforms
  • Scaffolding associated with perimeter safety screens and shutters
  • Mast climbers


  • Course duration: 3 days
  • Training outcome: Intermediate Scaffolding Statement of Attainment and WorkSafe High Risk Work Licence
  • Prerequisites: minimum 18 years of age, prior completion of Basic Scaffolding course
