Mechanical Reliability Engineer (Karratha, WA)

RCR’s operations in Karratha and Tom Price, Western Australia are a dynamic and fast paced business responsible for the manufacture and repair of equipment for the local heavy industry and the resources sector. The core business activities include structural and pipe welding, dragline component repair, slurry valve refurbishment and general shutdown, fabrication and machining services.

Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Manager - Pilbara, this position is responsible for overseeing the management of works involving design, schedule, procurement, manufacture, construction, installation and commissioning of various sized projects secured by RCR in Karratha and Tom Price. The role is also responsible for the development of reliability based solutions for clients maintenance needs.


We are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Reliability Engineer with the following attributes:

• Holds a Degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Has experience in a Mechanical Engineering design role, or equivalent.
• Proven leadership, planning and organisational skills.
• Strong computer skills in MS Suite including Project, AutoCAD, Inventor & MathCAD.
• Conceptualizing and designing cost effective designs for design and construct contracts.
• Understanding of the principles of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and knowledge of FEA software strand 7, ANSYS or equivalent.
• Experience in developing reliability based solutions for client maintenance issues.
• Commitment to safety, the environment and quality.
• Strong customer service and influencing ability.
• Excellent people and communication skills.
