Project Manager - Water (Sydney, NSW)

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Project Manager to work across Water projects within the Sydney metropolitan area. This will be a challenging and rewarding role which forms an integral part of our NSW ODG business.


Reporting to the Operations Manager, Construction the primary purpose of this position is primarily accountable for the project works:

•Being delivered to safety targets.
•Being delivered on time.
•Being delivered on budget.
•Being fit for purpose, and
•Meeting the client requirements.


In addition the incumbent will contribute directly to the bottom line of the company by managing the project (s) under his/ her control and will add value through direct and close contact with the client, guaranteeing relationships which will bring new and sustained business into the company.


The successful applicant will take on the following responsibilities:


•Ensuring all work practices are carried out in as safe a manner as possible and complies with all applicable legislation and the RCR’s Occupational Health Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) policies / procedures at all times, to achieve a zero tolerance of unsafe practices.
• Taking full responsibility for Project Integration Management (Project Plan Development, Project Execution Plan Development, Integrated Change Control).
• Responsibility for all Scope and Change Management (Variations, EOT’s etc).
•Accountability for Time Management (Activity definition, sequencing, duration estimation, schedule development and control, progress monitoring.)
•Accountability for Cost Management (Resource planning, cost estimates, budget allocation, cost control).
•Responsibility for implementing risk management on project(s) under his/ her control (including the development of a Risk Management Plan, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response Plan, Risk Monitoring and Control).
•Responsibility for Financial Management (Financial Planning, Financial Control, Administration and Records) and Claim Management (Claim Identification, Claim Quantification, Claim Prevention and Claim Resolution.
•Primary accountability for project deliverables and their compliance to specifications / contract requirements.
•Responsibility for sub contractor management.
•Responsibility for project close out and financial summary.
•Other duties as outlined in the PD.


To be considered for this role you will possess the following Qualifications, experience and personal qualities:


•Engineering degree or diploma (or recognised equivalent).
•Senior Project Engineer or Project Management background.
•8 + years experience in the Water industry or similar (experience would include at least 2 years in a role requiring the management of scope, cost, schedules and vendors/ subcontractors).
•Experience in managing a team of construction and engineering professionals.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Goal focused with a strong motivation to achieve.
