Reporting to the Branch Manager for Rotorua, this role will contribute directly to the bottom line of the company by managing the projects under their control.   The role will add value through direct and close contact with clients, guaranteeing relationships which will bring new and sustained business to the company.

The primary responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to:-

•Responsible for the effective planning and co-ordination of project design and installation activities.
•Follow an established program of reviewing contract and branch costs to ensure customer and branch profitability.
•Review and analyse project documents, estimates, specifications, drawings and relevant special conditions and liaise with the estimators to clearly define the project scope and boundaries.
•Participate in project handover meetings to ensure project financials, technical and scheduling requirements are defined.
•Responsible for financial set up of projects in the company job costing system (Pronto) into controllable and manageable cost categories.
•Responsible for project programming and scheduling and resource allocation and planning.
•Negotiate with suppliers to obtain best possible pricing and prepare detailed equipment lists/bill of materials in line with budget estimates for procurement personnel. Identify long lead items, plan and schedule equipment deliveries.
•Actively participate in the 'Post Contract Reviews' and the updating of estimate procedures and pricing structures.
•Ensuring all work practices are carried out in as safe a manner as is possible and complies with all applicable legislation and the RCR's Occupational Health Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) policies / procedures at all times, to achieve a zero tolerance of unsafe practices.

To be considered for this role you will possess the following experience and personal qualities: -

•A Tertiary Qualification in an appropriate discipline and/or extensive experience in business management.
•5-10 years related work experience and skills gained in the similar sized business in projects contracting, along with commercial/legal contract experience.
•A proven track record of practical and technical competency, consistent with leading a team of professional managers and engineers
•Financial Budgeting skills, forecasts and managing debtors and cash flow.
•Strong management skills including leadership, co-ordination, facilitation and negotiation skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with all personnel
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to an intermediate level.
