Mechanical Project Engineer - Water Industry (Shenton Park, WA)

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer with a background in the Water industry to work in our Infrastructure division based in Shenton Park, Perth WA.

The Mechanical Project Engineer is required to provide engineering and constructability advice and support for projects within the RCR Water Strategies and Business (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Design) to ensure those projects are delivered on budget, on time and fit the purpose and needs of the client. Initially you would be working on the Subiaco Waste Water Treatment Plant project. This is a permanent position that is being offered.

The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following:

• Assist each Project Manager in the delivery of SWWTP upgrade works.
• Undertake the preparation of Scopes of Works for project specific mechanical works.
• Assess tenders for mechanical scope of works and mechanical equipment
• Consider project design and execution to devise differentiation between RCR and competitors.
• Provide outline mechanical designs for sewage and water pumping systems, associated process equipment layouts and designs of STPs & WFP’s.
• Ensure designs comply to the latest Australian SWC Standards and appropriate Regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of Quality, Safety and Environmental Plans.
• Assist in the preparation of ITPs and Commissioning Plans.
• Assist in the preparation of Consultant Scope of Services both at tender and during project delivery.
• Review of mechanical designs undertaken by engaged consultants
• Creation and interpretation of technical documentation such as CAD Drawings & condition monitoring reports as qualified.
• Assist in the preparation of estimates, quotation and tenders with the Estimating Manager.
• Ensure quality specifications used are in accordance with Company and/or Client requirements.
• Develop methods to correct deficiencies identified in quality system audits.
• Act on any non-conformance that appears in their designated work area in accordance with contract requirements.
• Participate in appropriate training both formally and informally (by actively passing on own expertise) as required by the quality system.
• Comply with all Work, Health and Safety and requirements.

To be considered for the position you will have the following:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree
• 5 years’ experience in the water industry (including pumping stations, pipelines & treatment facilities)
• WA Water Corporation project experience

• Experience in the role of Deputy/Assistant Project Manager 
• Confined space trained
