RCR completed Engineering, Procurement & Construction works (“EPC”) and pre-commissioning of two Ore Processing Facilities (“OPFs”) at Fortescue’s Solomon Mine in Western Australia.
The OPFs together produce 95mtpa of iron ore, a major component of Fortescue’s expansion activity.
The contract was delivered in record time. The larger OPF located at the Kings facility was delivered in a record 29 week construction period. RCR also designed, built and supplied 8 apron feeders and 15 belt feeders.
The scope included RCR core competencies of Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Electrical (“SMPE”) works. During the height of construction over 1,000 RCR personnel were mobilised.
